Jenkins Leads Men's Golf After Opening Day at CSU Invitational

AURORA, Ohio - After two rounds at the CSU Invitational, the IPFW men's golf team sits in 11st place with a 36-hole score of 294-311-605. The Mastodons are four strokes back of 10th place Loyola Chicago.
Hosted by Cleveland State at the par-72 Barrington Golf Club, the course is being played at 7,049 yards. With two rounds in the books, Appalachian State holds a one stroke lead over Youngstown State, shooting a 579 on the day. Andrew Furr of Appalachian State and Nickolas Scott of Wright State sit tied atop the leaderboard after each carded a 141.
Devin Jenkins led IPFW, carding an even-par 72 in the opening round to finish the day at 150 and is tied for 31st place. Drake Devereux and Clark Tiller are tied for 52nd after both recorded a 154 over 36 holes. Tiller's day included a 1-under-par 71 in his second trip around the course. David Watterson closed out the afternoon in a tie for 62nd, shooting rounds of 72-84-156. Tyler Meyer sits two strokes back in a tie for 66th with scores of 75-83-158 to round out the team scoring for the Mastodons.
Playing as an individual for the 'Dons, Daniel Shepard recorded identical rounds of 79 to finish the day in a time for 66th place
The final round of the CSU Invitational will be a shotgun start on September 30 at 9:30 a.m.
