Beijing, China - The United States Men's Volleyball Team is now the only undefeated team in Pool A, following a 3-1 win over Bulgaria Thursday at the Capital Gymnasium. The Americans started out by losing the first set, 29-27, but came back to win the final three sets, 25-21, 25-14, and 26-24. IPFW's Ball came up with a huge solo block late in the fourth set. That spurred on the USA who had trailed for most of the set. Ball finished the match with three blocks and three kills out of four attempts for six total points. He also dished out 32 assists. University of Hawai'i product Clayton Stanley led the Americans for a third straight match with 21 points. Ryan Millar (17), Reid Priddy (15), and David Lee (11) also registered double-figures. Matey Kaziyski led Bulgaria (2-1) with 18 points. At 3-0, the U.S. is assured of a spot in the quarterfinals. Next up for Ball and Team USA is China on Saturday in Beijing. They round out Preliminary Pool play with Japan on Monday. ~Dons~
