Art and Betty Friedel have been long time supporters of the IPFW Athletic Program. Betty, who has been sadly missed since her passing in 2002, was a huge fan of Head Coach Arnie Ball and the IPFW Men's Volleyball Team. Art, who has been with IPFW for 40 years, is currently a professor emeritus in the Chemistry Department and ever present in the Gates Center. In 2003, Art graciously presented to athletics funding for the "Betty Friedel Endowed Scholarship" for Men's Volleyball in memory of his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Friedel.
