Smock was a catcher for the Mastodons during their final seasons as an NCAA Division II member. His name is scattered the Mastodon record book. He ranks fourth in runs scored (124), fifth in hits (191), fifth in total bases (273), sixth in at-bats (626), sixth in career starts (178), seventh in doubles (31), eighth in RBIs (100) and 10th in walks (80). The Carroll High School graduate was an All-GLVC Second Team selection in 1999.
