Chris Gisslen continues the longstanding tradition of IPFW men's volleyball All-Americans. Gisslen was named an AVCA Second-Team All-American in both 1999 and 2000. A setter, Gisslen was an integral part of IPFW's 1999 MIVA Conference Championship and NCAA Final Four squad.
Gisslen was a three-time MIVA All-Conference pick and was the League's Freshman of the Year in 1997. Gisslen set the IPFW single season match assist record on January 27, 2000 with 107 assists against Ohio State.
Following his collegiate career, Gisslen went on to represent the United States as a member of the 2001 World University Games team in Beijing, China. He helped the U.S. to a Gold Medal at those games. He was also a member of the U.S. National Team from 2001-03.
