Simon, who is currently playing professional basketball in South Korea, was a two-time selection to the NCAA Division I Independent First Team, and was the 2005 Lindy's Basketball Magazine 2005 Preseason Independent Player of the Year. He was the first player in program history to play in the NBA Summer League, when he suited up for the Minnesota Timberwolves, participated in the 2005 New Jersey Nets Training Camp, and was drafted into the Continental Basketball Association by the Idaho Stampede with the 21st overall pick.

He stands first in IPFW career history in blocked shots (141), and second in rebounds (623). He has the second, fourth, and eighth-highest single-season block totals in school history, and the third-highest single-season rebounding total with 275 from 2003-04. He has played each of the last five seasons overseas, where he has averaged over 10 points a game in every season.
