Dottie Porch was a two-sport athlete in her time at IPFW. She originally came to IPFW as a women's basketball player and played three years, but really excelled in her four-year volleyball career. She was named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference First-Team three times, leading the Mastodons to two GLVC Championships. In 1997 Porch was named the Conference's Player of the Year as well as being tabbed an AVCA D-II All-American. She was also named to the All-Great Lakes Region in 1996-97.
A two-time IPFW Female Athlete of the Year, Porch averaged 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds a game as a basketball player.
Following graduation, Porch played four years of professional volleyball in Europe. During two of those years, she was named Player of the Game in the European Cup Tournament. Porch currently coaches college volleyball. She began her career as an assistant Indiana University and is now the assistant coach at George Mason University.
