Joni Smith Price was an integral part of IPFW's two powerhouse women's volleyball teams that made NCAA tournament appearances in 1987 and 1988. A defense standout, Smith Price finished her IPFW career with 1,334 career digs. She also ended her career with 1,119 kills. Joni was named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference in 1987 and 1988, the same years she was tabbed as a Regional All-America. Smith Price was part of the Mastodon teams that won GLVC Championships in 1986, 1987, and 1988. Smith Price remains active in youth sports, coaching girl's basketball at Speice and volleyball with the N3 Volleyball Club.
