Julie Hefty-Price was a four-year letterwinner during her playing days at IPFW. The Northside High School product stayed close to home and had a stellar career for the Mastodons. Hefty-Price was named All-Great Lakes Valley Conference in 1986 and 1987. She ranks highly in a number of statistical categories for the women's volleyball team and is the school's all-time leader in career solo blocks with 414. As a fitting tribute to her outstanding playing career, Hefty-Price was named a Second-Team All-America in 1987. Locally, she has given back to the sport of volleyball by coaching a number of youth organizations.
