Shacina Hersey is the first member of the IPFW women's soccer team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A tenacious defender, Hersey also put up some fantastic offensive numbers. She finished her career second All-Time in scoring with 21 goals and 10 assists (52 points). Of her 21 goals, six were of the game-winning variety (tied for first all-time). She is IPFW's All-Time Assists leader.
In 2003, she led the Mastodons to their first winning record in program history at 9-7-3. During that year, she had a team-high 22 points with nine goals (four game-winners). A four-year letterwinner and three-year captain, Hersey was named team MVP all four years she played and was IPFW's Female Athlete of the Year in 2003-04.
