FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The IPFW Golf programs hosted their first Division I golf tournament in just the second year of the women's program. The Mastodons broke or tied all individual and team records and finished in 7th with a 998. Butler took the title with 921.
Rathsman broke all three individual records, two of which were already hers. For a low 18 she shot a 71 on round 2 of day one. For day one she shot a 150 for the low 36 score. She rounded out the records with the 54 hole record of 237. She knocked 23 shots off of the previous record of 260 shot last year by Vanessa Weimer at two different tournaments.
As a team the Mastodons tied the low 18 record with a 328. The broke the low 36 record of 665 with a 660. For the entire 54 holes the ladies shaved 71 strokes off of their previous record of 1069 to finish with a 998.
Butler's Linnsey Showers took the individual title with a 226 while Detroit's Mandi Dupuis came in second with a 228.
The Mastodons are off until March when they head to the Butler North/South Intercollegiate in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
