
'Dons Battle Hard Against Falcons

Fort Wayne, IN - The Mastodons fought hard against the Falcons for three games, but in game four Bowling Green exploded to fight past the 'Dons, 3-1 in the Gates Center on Tuesday night.
BGSU won with final scores of 30-25, 30-28, 21-30, 30-26. This match saw 12 lead changes and 27 tied scores in just four games. The Mastodons held the Falcons to a zero hitting percentage in game three. Bowling Green held out in game four, holding a four point lead at 27-23 to defeat the 'Dons, 30-26.
Cynara Matins led all on scoring with 16 kills. Amanda Pfister knocked down 13 and Jessica Miller added 12 for the 'Dons.
Jessica Dominiak had 42 assists and 11 digs for a double-double on the night. Shannon Reuter stepped in in game two and posted 11 assists.
Peachy Jankowski was tough on defense, digging 23 balls for IPFW. Martins hit a double-double, adding 17 digs to her 16 kills. Nicole Howell was a back row threat with 13 digs.
Claire Jackson was a force on the block, posting eight total blocks, three solos and five assists. Rebekah Roehm assisted at the net with five block assists. IPFW out-blocked the Falcons 16 to 14.
For the Falcons, Madeline Means led with 14 kills. Chrissy Gothke had 48 assists and Chelsey Meek led all on the dig with 28. Kendra Halm led on block solos for the night with five. She added two block assists for seven total blocks.
The Mastodons (17-10) will now have a three match road swing starting in Valparaiso this Saturday night at 7 PM. They will then head to Central Michigan on the 23rd and Butler on the 26th before returning home on the 29th to take on Wisconsin-Green Bay. Start time for UW-GB is 2 PM in the Gates Center.
