
'Dons Close Out Chippewas in Five

Mount Pleasant, MI - A back and forth battle led to a win for the Mastodons as the Women's Volleyball team defeated Central Michigan in five.
CMU ran out to a 1-0 lead after taking game one 33-31. Game two was all Mastodons with a game score of 30-24, as they never gave up the lead.
The back and forth battle continued in game three as the Chippewas took the close one, 30-28. Game four was the toughest battle, with 14 ties and seven lead changes. The 'Dons held out finishing CMU, 30-26 and forcing a game five. The 'Dons kept the fire going, never giving up the lead and defeating Central Michigan, 15-9.
The Mastodons were led offensively and defensively by Cynara Martins. Martins posted 21 digs and kills in the five game match. She added a block solo and four block assists on the night.
Amanda Pfister hit a double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs.
Rebekah Roehm and Claire Jackson each posted seven blocks for the 'Dons. Roehm had three solos and four assists, adding 11 kills. Jackson had two block solos and five block assists.
Jessica Miller just hit the double digit mark in kills with ten. She also was a force on the block, adding one solo and three assists.
Shannon Reuter and Jessica Dominiak shared time as the setter for the Mastodons. Dominiak led with 32 assists as Reuter added 28 assists. Peachy Jankowski posted 20 digs in the win.
The Chippewas had five ladies in double digit kills. Whitney Evers led CMU with 20 kills. Defensively, Alexis Lonneman had 29 digs. Evers added nine block assists for the night.
The Mastodons (19-10) will head to Butler University on Thursday night for a match at the Hinkle Fieldhouse. Game time is 7 PM. On Sunday, October 29th IPFW will host the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for a 2 PM match at the Gates Center.
