Fort Wayne, IN - The Mastodons started their three match homestand with the Valparaiso Crusaders on Tuesday at Pine Ridge Racquet Club. The Crusaders defeated IPFW, 5-2.
In doubles, Nabil Mourad Filho and Renan Constantino took their match to a tie breaker but fell at No. 1. The Crusaders went on to sweep the doubles matches, going into singles, 1-0.
In singles, Hermann Kuschke took his first set at #2 but was swept in the second, forcing a third. He defeated Joe Venegas to score for IPFW. Arturo Salgado took the point for the 'Dons at #4.
The Mastodons (6-12) will host Toledo on Saturday at 1 PM for a MAC conference match. The match tentatively is scheduled for the IPFW Tennis Courts.
