Rathsman Finishes Tied for 2nd at YSU Invitational

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The IPFW Women's Golf team opened up the 2007 fall season at Youngstown State on Sunday and Monday. After a very rainy Sunday the 'Dons were tied for third. At the end of Monday the Mastodons finished tied for 4th. Alison Rathsman finished tied for 2nd overall in the tournament.
The six lady team got off to a great start even with the bad conditions on Sunday, finishing the first round tied for third with Dayton. IPFW shot a 324 for round one.
Round two the 'Dons shot a 325, giving them an overall score of 649. The 'Dons finished the tournament tied with Cleveland State in fourth.
Rathsman was 12 over par with a 156 for two rounds, tying her for second with three other ladies.
Jacque Speece was tied for 14th with a 161. Her sister, Jillian was a stroke behind her in 18th with a 162.
Youngstown State took top honors with a team score of 629. Julie Pouliquen of Dayton took medalist with a 153.
The Mastodons will have some time off before heading to Butler on October 1st and 2nd. IPFW will host the IPFW Fall Classic on October 15th and 16th at Deer Track Golf Course in Auburn, Indiana.
