Indianapolis, IN - IUPUI's George Hill, the Summit League Preseason Player of the year, explosed for a game-high 33 points to lead the Jaguars past the visiting Mastodons, 77-59 on Saturday night in the Jungle.
Hill's 33 points was just one shy of his career mark of 34 set against UMKC earlier this month.
The Jaguars' junior gave the 'Cats their biggest lead of the first half on a layup at the 3:29 mark, making it 35-22.
IUPUI held an 11 point cushion at the half.
The Jaguars, who are undefeated at home this year (10-0), opened the second-half on an 18-5 run. Senior guard Austin Montgomery's jumper made it, 55-33 with just over 13-minutes left.
IPFW cut the lead back to 14 on a jumper by senior forward Jaraun Burrows, but that is as close as the 'Dons could get, falling by 18.
Hill was joined in double-figures by Montgomery (15) and Jon Avery (11).
IPFW was led by Burrows with 19 points and seven rebounds.
Senior guard Chris Perkins was the only other 'Don in double-figures with 10.
IUPUI shot 56.0% from the field, knocking down eight triples.
IPFW shot 46.8% from the floor with five 3-pointers.
The rebounds were even at 25.
With the loss, IPFW falls to 7-13 and 4-5 in conference play.
IUPUI improves to 15-5 and 7-2 in The Summit League.
The Mastodons return home to the friendly confines of the War Memorial Coliseum. They will host South Dakota State on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
