Mastodons Win Close Match with Niagara

Fort Wayne, IN - That all important doubles point came into play again this morning as IPFW scratched out a tough, 4-3 win over Niagara University at the Pine Ridge Racquet Club.
The Mastodons got singles wins by Amy Recht at No. 1, Ashley Coulson at No. 2, and Stacy Lish at No. 4.
Niagara captured three singles wins of their own.
After splitting matches at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, it was the No. 1 doubles team of Coulson and Lish topping Niagara's Vanja Lakic and Sheila Dargout, 8-6 to grab the doubles point and help the Mastodons to the, 4-3 win.
With the win, IPFW improves to 4-5 in 2008.
The 'Dons return to action on Friday night, hosting Eastern Illinois at Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m.
