
Volleydons Rebound with Sweep of Rutgers-Newark

Newark, NJ - The IPFW men's volleyball team got back to .500 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Rutgers-Newark on Friday night in New Jersey.
The Mastodons evened their record at 10-10 by the scores of 30-23, 30-25, and 30-21.
Senior outside hitter C.J. Macias led all scorer's with a match-high 14 kills. Macias hit .500 and served up three aces.
Macias was assisted on the offensive side by seniors Brock Ullrich and Josh Stewart with eight and six kills, respectively.
Kevin Goncalves saw his first action of the season at setter and dished out 19 assists. He also had three kills and six digs.
IPFW freshman middle hitter Oliver Kook registered three solo blocks and three block assists.
Nate Stott led the Scarlet Raiders with 11 kills.
IPFW outhit Rutgers-Newark .316 to .121
The Mastodons will wrap up their non-conference weekend by traveling to No. 11 George Mason for a Saturday night match with the Patriots. This will be the third match for the two teams this season. They split the first two.
Match time is 7:00 p.m.
