'Dons Close Fall Season with 16th Place Finish

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Nikki LeRose posted a two-round 180 (88-92) to lead the Mastodons at the 2009 F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at Clarksville Country Club.
LeRose's combined 36 score on the par-72, 5,960 yard course placed her in 75th overall at the event. Freshman Alyssa Turney posted a 96, one stroke back from her pace yesterday, to seal a 191 overall on the tournament.
Freshman Jillian Joyce checked in at third in the Mastodon line-up, carding a 95, improving by two strokes in round two to close the tournament at 192 overall (97-95). Fellow freshman Breanna Hatter also bettered her first round tally, posting a four-stroke improvement at 99. Her two-round total of 202 placed her 87th overall in the tournament.
Sophomore Tosha Embry withdrew from second round action, rounding out the IPFW line-up.
Tennessee Tech's Megan Bradford stormed to the top of the leaderboard today, posting an even-par 72 to capture medalist honors at 150. Morehead State held on to the team title with a 13-stroke victory over second place Houston Baptist.
The tournament closes out the Fall portion of the Mastodon schedule. Official Summit League action will begin in the Spring season for head coach Jessica Steward and the 'Dons.
