
'Dons Finish 10th in Summit League Championship

TULSA, Okla. - Senior Nikki LeRose fired an 84 in her final collegiate round, but the deficit in the team standings was too tough to make up, as the IPFW Mastodons finished 10th overall in the 2010 Summit League Championships.
LeRose, who shot opening day scores of 93 and 92, followed that today with an 84 to finish in a tie for 41st place, the best finish on the team.
Alyssa Turney finished second on the squad as she followed day one scorecards of 94 and 90 with a final round 91. Her 275 overall score placed her 45th overall in her the first Summit League Championship of her career.
Junior Amy Funk-Montgomery followed Turney in 47th place overall. She followed opening day scores of 98 and 94 with a third round 100 to finish at 292 overall on the tournament.
Freshman Breanna Hatter finished one place behind Funk as she followed opening day tallies of 100 and 103 with a 96 today to finish 48th overall. Sophomore Tosha Embry followed one place behind in 49th, with scores of 105, 102 and 102 for a three-day total of 309.
IPFW finished 103 strokes behind 9th place Centenary as the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles captured the overall team title, finishing 33 strokes ahead of second place South Dakota State.
Oral Roberts' Amber Hensley shot a 75 today to capture the medalist honors by one stroke over North Dakota State's Amy Anderson (81-75-73).
The 'Dons return four of five to a 2010-11 squad that has already made a pair of key signings in preparation for next season.
