Fort Wayne, IN - The IPFW women's soccer team tied Eastern Kentucky University, 1-1, in a home exhibition match on Wednesday evening at Hefner Stadium.
In the first period, EKU's, Carly Muller, had a 16 yard shot that bounced off IPFW's goalie, freshman Erin Nayler, for the 1-0 lead.
The Mastodons tried to get on the board in the first period, but Colonel's goalie, Lyndsay Vance, stopped them from tying the game early with the save.
At the 61:20 mark IPFW junior Felicia Jones with the assist from freshman Elise Mamanu-Gray, had a nine yard shot into the net past Vance for the 1-1 tie.
IPFW fired a total of 15 shots with nine being on goal and four fouls during the match, while EKU fired 11 shots, seven of which were on goal.
The Mastodons return to action on Friday against Butler at 4:00 p.m. at Butler Bowl for the final exhibition match of the season.
