
Indiana State Defeats IPFW 2-0

TERRE HAUTE, IN. - The Mastodons were unable to capture their second straight win of the season after falling, 2-0, to Indiana State on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
The 'Dons defeated Youngstown State on Thursday in double overtime, 3-2. IPFW is now 1-2 on the season after the loss, while Indiana State moves to 2-2.
Freshman goalie, Erin Nayler, had four saves in just the first 22 minutes of the match for the Mastodons preventing the Sycamores from getting on the board early.
INS's Morgan Wendlandt was able to get the ball past Nayler at the 30:42 mark off of a 25-yard free kick for the 1-0 lead.
With 20 minutes left in the match, the Sycamores made their spot on the board once again. Alison Gasparovich's 10-yard shot came off of a steal and a breakaway for the final score of 2-0.
Nayler played the full 90 minutes with six saves, and Lisa Underwood had the most shots for the 'Dons, with three.
IPFW was outshot by INS 19-8 and 8-0 in shots on goals. The Mastodons had a total of ten fouls, while the Sycamores had eight.
Next up for the Mastodons is a home match against Valparaiso on Friday (Sept. 3) at 7 p.m.
