Women's Cross Country Takes 23rd at Regional Meet

COMPLETE RESULTS
MADISON, Wis. - The IPFW women's cross country ended its 2013 season by taking 23rd of 33 teams at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by the University of Wisconsin on Friday afternoon.
IPFW's 710 team points were just behind Evansville (696), and Western Michigan (651). Michigan won the event with 48 points, while Butler (67) and Michigan State (73) took second and third, respectively.
Leading the way for the Mastodons was Rachel Zachar, a Wisconsin native, with a time of 22:53, placing 125th. Julie Jeszenszky took 130th overall in a time of 22:57, while Summit League Freshman of the Year Brittany Beard placed 143rd in a time of 23:07.
The Mastodons' strong pack time continued through regional, as the team's fourth runner, Jordan Tomecek, placed 153rd in a time of 23:20, with Tiffany Rauch finishing just behind in a time of 23:20, placing 159th, giving IPFW a 1-5 pack time of 27 seconds. Amaya Ayers was not far behind with a time of 23:30, placing 167th, while Kayla Boyes placed 192nd in a time of 24:06.
