BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The IPFW Mastodons it in a tie for 15th place at the Delores Black Falcon Invitational, hosted by Bowilng Green.
The Mastodons have a first-round total of 362, tied with Niagara. Host Bowling Green and Detroit are tied for the lead with a 322, while Indianapolis (323), Chicago State (327), Oakland (330), Northern Illinois (330), Ohio (336), Findlay (337), Ferris State (340), Cleveland State (343), Ashland (345), Loyola (354), and Northwood (360) sit in front of the Mastodons.
Leading the way for the Mastodons was Allison Curtis, whose first round 87 puts her in a tie for 51st in the field. Alyssa Turney carded an 89 for a tie of 62nd, with Ashton Taft tying for 68th with a 90. Sydney Bailey carded a 96 in the first round to close out the IPFW scoring quartet, while Brenna Sherwood shot a 97, tying for 88th. Playing as an individual, Taylor Lamphier shot a 92, tying for 78th of those in the competition.
The teams return to Stone Ridge Golf Club tomorrow for the second and final day of competition in the event.
