Women's Golf Closes Season Eighth at Summit Championships

KELLER, Texas - The IPFW Mastodon women's golf team placed eight of nine teams at the 2013 Summit League Championships hosted at the Sky Ranch Creek G.C.
IPFW's 354 team score gave them a three-day score of 1042, ahead of South Dakota (1052), and just behind South Dakota State (1023). North Dakota State took the team title with a 949, as Kansas City (960), IUPUI (974), Omaha (979), and Western Illinois (997) rounded out the top five in the field.
For the third straight round, a different player led the team, as the third-round was led by Ashton Taft's 82, with Allison Curtis finishing just behind with an 85. Sydney Bailey's 91 was third on the squad, as Alyssa Turney's 96 rounded out the scoring four for the Mastodons, with Taylor Lamphier's 99 closing out the 'Dons in the field.
Curtis, IPFW's top golfer in the first round, was top overall for the Mastodons with a three-round score of 248, tied for 18th in the field. Taft's final round pushed her to second on the squad with a 255 - tied for 25th overall - as Bailey's 272 put her third on the team and 38th among the competitors. Turney (278 / 43rd) and Lamphier (282 / 44th) closed out IPFW's golfers in the competition.
The tournament closes the door on the 2012-13 season for the women's golf team.
