Hyde became the 16th player in IPFW women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points. She tied the IPFW single-game scoring record last year with 43 points at Southern Illinois and scored in double figures in 27 of IPFW's 30 games. Hyde's scoring totals never took a hit as she reached 20 or more points in 12 contests.
Wichita State is coming off the program's first trip to the NCAA Tournament behind a school-record 24 wins. The Shockers captured the school's first ever regular season and conference tournament championships last year and return MVC Tournament MVP Alex Harden.
Harden averaged 11.7 points per game a year ago by shooting 46 percent from the field and 75 percent from the charity stipe. The 5-11 G/F averaged 34 minutes of playing time and also chipped in with five rebounds per contest.
