Dorner Leads Mastodons at Roseann Schwartz Invitational

WARREN, Ohio - The IPFW women's golf team closed out the Roseann Schwartz Invitational with a final-round 338 to finish fourth in the team standings with a two-day score of 660.

Hosted by Youngstown State at the par-72, 6,081-yard Avalon Golf and Country Club, Akron captured the team title with a two-day score of 624. Danielle Nicholson of Akron claimed the individual medalist honors by one stroke, shooting a 2-over-par 146 for the tournament.

IPFW finished only one stroke behind third place St. Francis (Pa.). Monica Dorner carded a team-best 81 on the final day to finish tied for ninth place with a 36-hole score of 161. Brenna Sherwood shot a combined score of 165 for the tournament to finish tied for 14th. Candi Keller ended her final round tied for 17th place, carding a 167. Madison Chesnutt and Jenna Kurosky tied for 21st with scores of 171, respectively.

Paige Bird capped off her individual performance for the tournament with a two-day score of 169 to finish in 19th place.

IPFW returns to action October 12 and 13 for the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate in Kohler, Wisconsin.
