1/4/2016 3:43:00 PM | Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – IPFW Athletics is pleased to introduce the Mastodon Kids Club for Basketball. The free club was created in an effort to emphasize a greater family atmosphere at home IPFW men's and women's basketball games and instill a sense of Mastodon Pride in the community's youth.
"We are striving to be Fort Wayne's team and that begins with the youth of Fort Wayne," said IPFW second-year men's basketball head coach Jon Coffman. "We recognize that there is an opportunity for our program to influence and mentor the youth of our city through clinics, camps and volunteer programs, and also believe that building relationships with young people at our games is a great way to get them excited about both IPFW and the sport of basketball.
"I believe that we have something special at IPFW, and coach Chris Paul and I are both committed to sharing this experience with the youth of Fort Wayne. For families with young children, both IPFW men's and women's basketball games provide an inexpensive, exciting opportunity to join in our city's Division I college athletics' experience."
Members of the Mastodon Kids Club for Basketball will receive free admission to all home IPFW men's and women's basketball games. In addition, members will enjoy several other benefits including an official welcome pack to include a welcome letter, members-only Mastodon T-shirt and membership card, free popcorn at all Gates Sports Center home games on the IPFW campus, a special invitation to the attend the Mastodon Kids Club for Basketball men's game against the University of Denver at the Gates Sports Center on February 13 beginning at 7 p.m., along with newsletters throughout the year.
Per NCAA regulations, all youth in grades six and under are eligible to participate in the free Mastodon Kids Club for Basketball.
