MEN'S PREVIEW (8K)
The 'Dons have had a few weeks off after last running at Bowling Green on Sept. 16. Logan Kitchen's time of 26:14.3 at Bowling Green was the fifth fastest 8,000-meter time in school history. Sam Williamson's 26:20.7 at the same meet ranks as the sixth best 8K time in program history. The 'Dons will send 10 runners to the race in Louisville on Saturday. The course on Saturday will be home to the 2017 NCAA Division I National Championships. The event is hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. Last season, Bret Unger was Fort Wayne's top competitor at the Greater Louisville Classic. He finished 32nd of 354 competitors with a time of 26:56.25.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW (5K)
The Mastodons finished second of 44 teams last season at the Greater Louisville Classic in the silver race. Leading the way for the women were Emma Rafuse and Rebecca Sippel, Rafuse finished in fifth out of 365 runners, while Sippel came in at 18:55.49 finishing in seventh. Following the race in Louisville, the 'Dons are back on the course on Oct. 15 at the University of Evansville Invitational. It will be Fort Wayne's final race before the Summit League Championships on Oct. 29.
