
'Dons Set Season Average Record, Finish Ninth at Championship

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The Fort Wayne women's golf season came to the close after the final round of the Summit League Championship as the Mastodons finished in ninth place with a three-day score of 1,011. The 'Dons ended the year by setting the program scoring average record with a 326.96, eclipsing the mark of 327.65 set during the 2014-15 season.
Played at the par-72, 6,142-yard Arbor Links Golf Club, Denver won the team title with a 54-hole score of 906. Megan Mingo from South Dakota State took home the individual medalist honors with a three-day total of 6-over-par 222.
Monica Dorner led the way for the Mastodons with a 78 on the day and finish tied for 33rd place with a 54-hole score of 249. Madison Chesnutt finished one shot back in a tie for 35th with an 80 for the day. Candi Keller recorded an 87 for the round to end the week in 43rd place with a 257. Linnzie Richner shot a 261 for the championship to place 44th overall. Abigail Carlsen capped off the team scoring for the 'Dons with a 267 and finish 45th.
Chesnutt concluded the season with an 80.19 average, which is second all-time in program history. Dorner also jumped into the top-5 for single-season scoring average with a 81.64 on the year, which is fourth best.
