'Dons Set Season Average Record, Chesnutt Sets Team Season and Career Marks

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The Fort Wayne women's golf team closed out its season with an eighth place finish at the Summit League Championship. The Mastodons shot a team score of 316 on the final day to conclude the tournament with a score of 972.
The 'Dons end their season setting a new program season scoring average of 321.20
Hosted at the par-72 Arbor Links Golf Club, the championship course was played at 6,261 yards. North Dakota State captured the team title with a three-day score of 888. Sophie Newlove of Denver won in a playoff after tying with two other golfers with a 54-hole score of 217.
For the third straight day, Madison Chesnutt carded an 80 as she led the Mastodons for the week with a 240 and tied for 26th place. Linnzie Richner carded a team-low 77 on the day as she finished in a tie for 31st place with a three-day score of 242. Two shots back with a 79 on the day and finishing in 33rd place is Jenna Kurosky. Abigail Carlsen carded an 84 during the final round to finish the week in 39th place with a 253. Paige Bird wrapped up her season with an 80 to place 40th with a 54-hole of 254.
Chesnutt finished her season with a new Fort Wayne single-season scoring average of 79.39. The senior also set a new career average mark of 81.43 over her four seasons as a Mastodon.
