JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf was in action on Monday (March 9), finishing in a tie for sixth on the first day of the Benbow Invitational at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.

Holly Anderson paced the Mastodons with a 79, which was good for a tie for 17th place. Linnzie Richner's 80 put her in a tie for 23rd place. Just one shot back was Laura Caetano, who finished with an 81 in a tie for 28th place. Emma Schroeder carded an 82 in the opening round with 11 pars on the day. She is in a tie for 34th place. Kennedy Brooker had an 86 which put her in a tie for 57th place.

Luiza Caetano competed as an individual, bringing a 96 into the clubhouse to tie for 81st.

As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne carded a 322, which put the Mastodons in a tie with Austin Peay for sixth. Quinnipiac is leading the field through 18 holes with a 308 (+24), and Valparaiso's Kayla Krueger is the individual leader at 74 (+3).

The 'Dons will be back on the course tomorrow (March 10) with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
