As Purdue Fort Wayne prepares for its first year in the Horizon League, we wanted to give the fans a quick briefing of each sport in which the Mastodons will be competing for a League championship. Today, women's basketball.
Who: All 12 Horizon League schools sponsor women's basketball.

Championships by School: Green Bay 16, Notre Dame 5, Detroit Mercy 2, Milwaukee 2, Wright State 2, Cleveland State 2, Evansville 1, Northern Illinois 1, Xavier 1, Butler 1, IUPUI 1.
How Is a Champion Determined?: While the 2021 championship format has yet to be announced, last season the Horizon League saw the top two seeds from regular season league play receive byes to the semifinals in Indianapolis. The remaining teams played at home sites to determine the two other teams which would advance to Indianapolis in the semifinals.
One Memorable Mastodon Win: The Mastodons used 36 points from Amanda Hyde to beat IUPUI in February 2014. Hyde went 18 of 20 from the charity stripe to seal the win. This game also featured two players that are now coaches for Purdue Fort Wayne: Haley Seibert, who played for the 'Dons, and Akilah Sims, who played for the Jaguars.
Know Your Foes: The 'Dons have played each team in the Horizon League except for Robert Morris. The Mastodons beat UIC last season 61-50.
One Random Note: The single game scoring leader in Horizon League history is Tiffany Webb, who scored 49 points for Wright State against Butler in 2003.
And Now For Something Completely Different: The Horizon League started awarding an All-Horizon League Third Team in 2019-20, in addition to the First, Second, All-Defensive and All-Freshman Teams.
