Purdue Fort Wayne Drops Game at Milwaukee on Saturday

MILWAUKEE - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team dropped the second of a its two-game series with Milwaukee on Saturday (Jan. 9) in the Klotsche Center 64-33.
Milwaukee started the game on an 11-0 run, but Purdue Fort Wayne responded with a 9-0 run starting with Sierra Bell's trey. Bell knocked in two freebies, followed by one from Shayla Sellers. Ott capped the run with a 3-pointer with 1:52 remaining.
Rylie Parker did the majority of the scoring in the second quarter for Purdue Fort Wayne, as she converted two free throws and buried a triple. The Mastodons started off the frame with a 6-0 push, with 3-pointers from Sellers and Bell. The Mastodons held Milwaukee with a field goal in the second quarter until the 1:09 mark.
Milwaukee had a 26-1 run over the final 7:02 of third quarter to the 7:23 mark in the fourth to balloon the lead to 32.
Bell led the Mastodons in scoring with 11 but got stuck in foul trouble. The Mastodons forced Milwaukee into 21 turnovers.
Purdue Fort Wayne falls to 0-10, 0-8 Horizon League while Milwaukee improves their league-leading record to 11-1, 8-0 Horizon. This is the first time Milwaukee is 8-0 in League play in program history.
The Mastodons will return home for a pair of contests against Green Bay on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 15-16). Those games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
