Leigha Baldwin Signs With Mastodon WVB

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball head coach Steve Florio has announced that Leigha Baldwin has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Mastodons.
Baldwin is a 6-foot middle blocker from Perrysburg, Ohio. She played for the Yellow Jackets of Perrysburg High School under head coach Laura Davidson. Baldwin was an All-District Honorable Mention in 2019 and 2020, and earned Second Team All-Northern Lakes League in 2019 and Third Team honors in 2020. She played for the Premier Volleyball Academy for five years.
"I'm very happy to have Leigha join our program," Florio said. "She adds much needed depth to a shallow position and is a well trained middle that will be ready to go from day one. Further, she has worked really hard to make this a reality for her, and as such, I expect her to make the most of this opportunity."
Baldwin will join fellow freshmen Jen Springer, Claire Pape and Nicole Jones, along with the rest of the Mastodons in their second season in the Horizon League. The 'Dons will be in action for the first time on August 21 in exhibition action at Ball State. The regular season opens on August 27 with the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational.
