Mastodon Women's Golf Season Comes to a Close

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - The Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf team's season came to a close on Tuesday (April 26), as the Mastodons finished up their appearance in their second Horizon League Championship.
Anna Olafsdottir had the best performance of the week for the Mastodons. She finished in a tie for 34th with a score of 80-87-79-246. In her final round of the week, she started off by going 2-under in her first six holes. She got birdies on 11 and 15, bookending three pars on the three par-5s in a row. She ended her round with 10 pars.
Casey Bunner capped off her collegiate career with a 38th-place finish with a 79-85-83-247. She turned in two birdies in her final round on holes two and 16 to go with her five pars.
Fellow senior Kennedy Brooker was one shot back for 39th with an 80-87-81-248. She leaves the Mastodon program with the seventh-best scoring average in program history. On Tuesday, she poured in 11 pars with a birdie on the 425-yard 12th.
Laura Caetano turned in 82-86-86-254 to take 42nd place. She had eight pars in her last round of the season. Arny Dagsdottir played in round three after being subbed out in round two. She had her score taken in the last round, shooting 85. She had seven pars.
As a team, Purdue Fort Wayne shot 321-345-328-994 to take ninth place. Oakland won the team title with a 915. Golden Grizzly Amalia Shahzan was the individual medalist with a 212.
Purdue Fort Wayne's average 18-hole team score of 319.2 was the team's third-best in program history. Caetano and Olafsdottir own two of three best career averages in program history.
