Hunter Mefford Earns #HLGOLF All-Academic Team Nod

INDIANAPOLIS - Purdue Fort Wayne men's golfer Hunter Mefford earned a place on the 2022 Horizon League Men's Golf All-Academic Team, the league announced on Monday (May 16).
Mefford received his degree in business management this spring after just three years on campus. He completed his degree with a 3.92 GPA, which marked the highest GPA of any male Mastodon student-athlete. He is the owner of three Horizon League Academic Honor Roll selections and helped the Mastodon men's golf team earn the Horizon League Raise Your Sights Award last summer. This honored the squad in the Horizon League with the highest team GPA.
In his third season with the Mastodons, Mefford shot a season average of 75.00 with three finishes in the top-15. His best finish of the season was a tie for fourth at the Benbow Invitational on March 8, where he shot 72-73-145.
Mefford is the first Mastodon to earn Academic All-League honors since the 'Dons joined the Horizon League in 2020, and the first since Parker Deakyne earned a Summit League All-Academic selection in 2019-20.
