
Cross Country and Track & Field Add 16 Signees

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne cross country/track and field director Alex Carradine has announced 16 additional signees for the 2022 recruiting class. The 16 signees join 14 previously announced additions for next season.
The recruiting class sits at 30 for the 2022-23 campaign.
Throws
Lynzi Heimlich – (Monon, Ind. / North White High School)
She competed in sprint events and the discus throw in high school. Heimlich posted personal records of 26.47 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 1:03.15 in the 400-meter dash, and 35.28 meters in the discus throw back in 2021.
Owen Kaufman – (Mentor, Ohio / Lake Catholic High School)
In the 2022 outdoor season with the Cougars, Kaufman posted marks of 13.41 meters in the shot put, 40.51 meters in the discus throw, and was a member of a 4 by 100-meter relay team that ran 53.46 seconds. In the 2022 indoor season, Kaufman threw a distance of 16.84 meters in the weight throw.
Lia Rivers – (Toledo, Ohio / Whitmer High School)
In the 2022 outdoor season, Rivers posted marks of 12.19 meters in the shot put and 26.65 meters in the discus throw. During the 2022 indoor season, she had a 10.86 meter performance in the shot put at the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches D1 Indoor State Championships back on March 4. Her brother, Marcus Elliott, played defensive back at Kent State from 2013-2017.
Sprints
Aubrey Haas – (Pemberville, Ohio / Eastwood High School)
During the 2022 outdoor season, Haas recorded times of 17.41 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 50.51 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. She was a member of the 4 by 100 meter shuttle hurdles relay team (1:12.57) and 4 by 400-meter relay team (4:18.24).
Maddy McClerren – (Waterford, Mich. / Waterford Kettering High School)
In the 2022 outdoor season with the Captains, she posted times of 13.60 seconds in the 100-meter dash and and a personal best 27.57 seconds in the 200-meter dash. In the 2021 season, McClerren ran a personal best time of 13.12 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
Ashtyn Zickgraf – (Selma, Ind. / Wapahani High School)
This season with the Wapahani high school track & field team, Zickgraf ran a time of 18.14 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles and 58.52 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles. She was also a member of the 4 by 100-meter relay team (56.34 seconds).
Angela Morisette – (Saint Clair Shores, Mich. / Lakeview St. Clair Shores High School)
In the 2021 outdoor season with the Huskies, Morisette posted personal bests in the 100-meter dash (12.66 seconds) and 200-meter dash (26.39 seconds). In the 2022 outdoor season, she was a leg on the 4 by 100-meter relay team (52.67 seconds) and 4 by 200-meter relay team (1:58.87).
Distance/XC
Emma Collison – (Highland, Mich. / Highland-Milford High School)
In the 2021 cross country season, Collison ran a personal record of 20:01.1 at the Michigan Meet of Champions/ Mid East Qualifier. Collison competed in the 100-meter hurdles (18.63 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (55.12 seconds) in the 2022 outdoor season. In the 2021 outdoor season, she competed in the long jump (3.65 meters) and was a member of the 4 by 400-meter relay team (4:27.65).
Colin Gasson – (Fort Loramie, Ohio, Fort Loramie High School)
He posted a personal record of 16:18.7 in the 5,000-meter run during the 2021 cross country season. In the 2022 indoor season, he ran a personal best time of 2:03.95 in the 800-meter run. He also was a member of a 4 by 800-meter relay team that ran 8:12.94 at the OATCCC D2-D3 Indoor State Meet back on March 5.
Colten Gasson – (Fort Loramie, Ohio / Fort Loramie High School)
Colten Gasson's personal best 5K time of 16:04.3 came at the OHSAA D3 State Cross Country Championships back on Nov. 6, 2021. He placed eighth overall at the meet. In the 2022 indoor season, Colten ran a personal best time of 4:33.66 in the 1600-meter run. He was also a member of the same 4 by 800-meter relay team that his brother competed in at the OATCCC D2-D3 Indoor State Meet.
Ava Genovese – (Coloma, Mich. / Coloma High School)
In the 2021 cross country season, Genovese ran a personal best time of 19:20.2 at the Michigan High School Athletic Association LP D3 Finals. She also won the MHSAA LP Regional 22-3 Meet (19:55.6). In the 2022 outdoor season, she posted personal bests in the 800-meter run (2:37.13), 1600-meter run (5:44.82) and 3200-meter run (12:21.95). In prior seasons, she competed in the long jump, 4 by 400-meter relay team, and 4 by 800-meter relay team.
Hannah Segrist – (Milan, Mich. / Milan High School)
In the 2021 cross country season, Segrist posted a season best time of 19:46.2. Her personal best time of 19:26.6 was set in the 2018 season. Segrist set her personal best times in the 800-meter run (2:36.04) and 1600-meter run (5:49.51) in the 2021 outdoor season. In the 2022 outdoor season, Segrist was a member of the 4 by 800-meter relay team (11:30.49), and Distance Medley Relay team (15:16.17).
Hailey Whiteleather – (Columbia City, Ind. / Columbia City High School)
Whiteleather is the fourth member from Columbia City high school in Columbia City, Ind. to join the Mastodons recruiting class.She will be one of seven student-athletes who came from Columbia City high school. In the 2021 cross country season, Whiteleather posted a personal best time of 21:04.7 in the 5,000-meter run.
Madeleine Wisniewski – (Hartland, Mich. / Hartland High School)
In the 2021 cross country season, she ran a season best time of 21:41.4 in the 5,000-meter run. Wisniewski set her personal best time of 20:36.6 in the 2020 cross country season. In the 2022 outdoor track & field season, Wisniewski posted season bests in the 800-meter run (2:49.42), and 3200-meter run (14:21.3) and competed in the 4 by 800-meter relay.
Field Events
Alaina Diaz – (Hudsonville, Mich / Hudsonville High School)
She will be a dual-sport athlete at Purdue Fort Wayne, as she will also compete for the women's basketball team. On the track side, she is the state of Michigan's long jump record holder (6.03 meters), and Hudsonville High School's record holder in the 100-meter dash (12.41 seconds), 200-meter dash (25.21 seconds) and long jump events. She also posted a personal record of 58.02 seconds in the 400-meter dash in the 2021 outdoor season. On the basketball side, Diaz was a four-year All-Conference selection and was the team defensive MVP for three years. She was also an All-State honoree in 2021 and 2022. She led the Eagles to the state championship in 2021, earning regional, quarterfinal, semifinal and final MVP awards.
Dylan Konieczny – (Wawasee, Ind. / Wawasee High School)
She is projected to join the multi-event's squad with current Mastodons Dylan Kirkwood, Sophia Buck and Ramey Wilder.
