Three Pick Up CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Purdue Fort Wayne's Luke Morrell, Marco Navarro and Juan Romero were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Soccer Academic All-District Team on Tuesday (Nov. 21)
The 2023 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions - NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. To qualify, all nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Morrell owns a 3.57 GPA in the organizational leadership graduate program after a 3.53 GPA as an undergraduate. He was an All-Horizon League Second Team pick in 2023. He helped the 'Dons give up just 21 goals on the season, second best in the league. Morrell started 14 games for the 'Dons.
Navarro owns a 3.72 GPA as a management major. He played in 16 games with nine starts, picking up one assist. This is the second straight season he has been recognized by CSC.
Romero has a 3.59 GPA in organizational leadership. He was an All-Horizon League Second Team selection in 2023. He started 14 games for the 'Dons, earning two assists. He was a key part of the Mastodon defense in his first year as a Mastodon.
The trio helped the 'Dons earn the first Horizon League Tournament win in program history and advance to the league semifinals.
