
Renna Schwieterman Selected as Horizon League Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Renna Schwieterman of the Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball team was selected as the Horizon League's Freshman of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Dec. 4).
The Jay County High School grad led Purdue Fort Wayne to a 2-0 record with a pair of Horizon League wins. She averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. She shot 52.9 percent from the floor (9-of-17) and 44.4 percent from 3-point land (4-of-9). Schwieterman had 10 points in an 84-66 win at Oakland with a 4-for-7 effort (57.1 percent). She followed it up with a 14-point performance at home in a 71-60 win over Wright State. She was 5-for-10 from the floor in that game and added six rebounds.
The 6-foot forward is fourth in the Horizon League and top-200 nationally in 3-pointers per game.
Schwieterman and the Mastodons will take the floor again on Wednesday (Dec. 6) at Bellarmine at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
