Three Mastodon Women Set Top-10 Program Finishes at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

NORTON, Ohio - Riley Tate, Ava Genovese and Haylee Hile set top-10 marks in the program's 6K record book at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday morning (Nov. 15). The Mastodons' top-five runners all finished with personal best times at the meet and completed the fastest team average in program history (21:45.7).
Tate was the first Mastodon to cross the finish line, completing the 6K in 20:58.3 and marking her name as the fourth fastest 6K time in the program's history. Tate earned in 73rd, overcoming 19 runners between the 2K split and the finish line.
Genovese finished in 92nd as the second Purdue Fort Wayne runner to complete the course. Genovese ran a 21:18.6, which tops her personal best from the Bradley Pink Classic (Oct. 18) and places 7th in program history. Hile sees the program's top-ten list for the first time, reaching ninth with a time of 21:46.1. Hile finished in 126th.
Lydia Carrell passed 12 runners in the final 1K of the meet to finish 133rd (21:59.2). Faith Allen filled-out the Mastodons' top-five with a time of 22:46.1, placing 173rd.
Kynzlei Bassett finished 189th (23:07.5). Senior Mercedes Sarver finished in 23:17.3, placing 197th
Purdue Fort Wayne earned 591 points, landing them 21st at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. Notre Dame took the win with 51 points.
