Adrienne Rohwedder Shoots 71 in Round One of Sacred Heart Invitational

ORANGE CITY, Fla. - Adrienne Rohwedder is just one shot off the lead after one round at the Sacred Heart Invitational. The redshirt-senior shot 71 for Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf on Friday (March 8) and is in a tie for second place.
Rohwedder's 71 is the best score of her Division I career, topping a 72 last season. Rohwedder carded five birdies to counteract four bogeys. She had birdies on holes two, three, 10, 15 and 18. She had just one bogey on the back nine to finish 2-under on the back.
Fellow senior Anna Olafsdottir shot a 1-over 73, two shots back of Rohwedder. She had an even front nine with a bogey on one and birdie on four. After opening the back nine with a bogey and double, Olafsdottir was bogey-free the rest of the way. She had birdies on holes 14 and 16. Olafsdottir is tied for sixth.
Freshman Hunar Mittal shot 74, turning in a pair of birdies. She got a birdie on the 135-yard fourth hole, then another on the 313-yard 17th. Mittal is tied for eighth.
Natalie Papa's was the last score taken with a 79 and she is tied for 23rd. She turned in 12 pars. Olivia Jang rounded out the lineup, turning in an 82 on day one. She had birdies on holes two and 14.
Lillie Cone played as an individual, turning in an 83. She birdied 17.
As a team, the Mastodons are in sole possession of second after their opening round of 294. Host Sacred Heart (284) is the only team ahead of the 'Dons.
The final round of the Sacred Heart Invitational will fire off on Saturday morning (March 9).
