FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's volleyball head coach Steve Florio has announced a new addition to the 2025 roster: Avery Parris.
"We very happy to add Avery to our team," Florio said. "She is a strong blocker with a heavy arm that will give us depth on the right-side. Further, having been a starter all season in the Missouri Valley Conference, she'll bring valuable playing experience to our roster. Lastly, her good team attitude and academic mindset will add to our already great culture."
Parris is a 6-foot-2 right side from Evansville, Indiana joining Purdue Fort Wayne from Southern Illinois. Parris attended Reitz Memorial High School where she collected many accolades. She was named to the IHSVCA 3A All State First Team and AVCA All-American Watch List in 2023. She also was named to the AVCA and IHSVCA Phenom Watch List in 2021 and 2022. She ranked seventh in Indiana 3A for blocks (108) in 2022 and then sixth in Indiana 3A for blocks (98) in 2023. As a Saluki, Parris played in 108 sets and recorded 120 kills and 16 blocks. She had a career-high of 17 kills and six blocks, both in the same night against SEMO.
Parris and the Mastodons will open the 2025 season in August.
