FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne Athletic Department announced on Thursday (Oct. 16) that all regular season home games for the Mastodon women's basketball team will be broadcast live on 95.7 WELT for the 2025-26 season.
WELT, Allen County Public Library's radio station, in conjunction with Purdue Fort Wayne, will bring the Mastodon women to the airwaves for a full home slate for the first time in nearly a decade. The station can be accessed through 95.7 FM and online.
Derek Decker, a Norwell High School and Indiana University graduate, will serve as the play-by-play broadcaster for the games. Decker has served as the play-by-play man for IU softball, Chillicothe Mudcats, Dodge City Community College and the Fort Wayne Tincaps, along with several appearances for Purdue Fort Wayne on ESPN+.
The Mastodons (27-9, 18-2) finished as the Horizon League runners-up a year ago with a berth to the WNIT Great 8. Fort Wayne native Maria Marchesano is at the helm for her fifth season, coming off the program's best season in program history.
The 2025-26 edition of the Mastodons have an exhibition against Manchester on October 23 at 11 a.m., the annual Fitness Day partnership with Fort Wayne Community Schools. The home regular season opener, and first broadcast on WELT, will be on November 12 at 7 p.m. against Purdue.
