
Lauren Ross Selected as Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball star Lauren Ross has been selected as a College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team selection, the CSC announced on Wednesday (April 16).
Ross finished her collegiate career with a 4.0 GPA, both in her undergraduate work and her graduate studies. She was a two-time CSC Academic All-District honoree (2022-23, 2024-25) and two-time Academic All-American (2022-23, 2024-25). She was a Third Team Academic All-American in 2022-23 at Western Michigan. Ross is one of two members of the Academic All-America Division I teams with a 4.0 GPA in her entire career.
On the basketball floor, Ross was one of the most efficient players in the country and of all time. She became the first player in NCAA history to lead the country in both 3-point percentage (47.6) and free throw percentage (94.8). Her 3-point percentage was the 26th-best in NCAA history, her free throw mark was the 13th-best all-time and her 111 3-pointers were the 68th-most in a season. The Horizon League Newcomer of the Year averaged 15.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while leading Purdue Fort Wayne to the WNIT Great 8, the furthest postseason run in program history.
Ross is the second Mastodon women's basketball player to earn Academic All-America honors. Amanda Hyde was a Second Team selection in 2012-13 and First Team in 2013-14. She is the seventh Mastodon of any sport to earn Academic All-America status and first in a decade.
