
Iann Topete Named #HLMSOC Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS – Purdue Fort Wayne's Iann Topete has been named the Horizon League Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (Aug. 25).
Topete was the only Horizon League student-athlete to score multiple goals in the opening week of play. The San Luis, Ariz. native scored twice in a 3-3 draw at DePaul on Aug. 21. The 'Dons were down 3-1 after a pair of DePaul penalty kick goals early in the second half. Topete made it a one-goal game with a tally in the 65th minute, and tied the match at three with a second goal in the 77th minute.
Purdue Fort Wayne added a second positive result on Sunday in a scoreless tie at Loyola Chicago.
The Mastodons open the home portion of the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. against Eastern Illinois at the Hefner Soccer Complex.
