Women’s Golf in Fourth After Day One in South Carolina

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Purdue Fort Wayne women's golf sits in fourth place after the opening round of the Battle at the Beach on Saturday (Feb. 21). The Mastodons shot 319 in the 13-team field.
Emily Gottman led the Mastodons on Saturday with 75, she is tied for fourth in the 70 player field. Lillian Gottman and Louise Ekesall both shot 81, tying for 21st. Hunar Mittal is tied for 27th (82) and Lara Dommach is tied for 35th (83).
Natalie Papa played as an individual and shot 81 to tie for 21st.
Papa, Mittal and Lillian Gottman both had two birdies. Emily Gottman had one.
Charleston Southern is in first (295) with Fairfield (304) and Long Island (316) following.
The second round of the event at the Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club will be held on Sunday (Feb. 22).
