Andrew Strong Sets Program Record at Rumble in the Fort

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Purdue Fort Wayne men's cross country team took second place at the Rumble in the Fort on Saturday (Sept. 19). Andrew Strong led the 'Dons at the Mastodon Cross Country Course with a new 6k program record time.
The races were pushed back a couple of hours due to lightning in the area, and the men's race was shortened from the scheduled 8k to a 6k.
Andrew Strong was the first Mastodon to cross the finish line, placing eighth with a program-record time of 18:50.2.
Bryan Garcia followed in 12th place with a time of 19:02.2. Austin Hall (19:05.6) and Marcus Ridge (19:10.6) finished 14th and 16th, respectively. Boden Genovese rounded out the Mastodons' first-five finishers, placing 19th in 19:22.1.
Jack Strong earned 22nd (19:40.9), Daniel Mullett placed 29th (19:54.0), Kale Seymour took 35th (20:11.4), Landon Miller finished 36th (20:12.2), Aidan Green earned 41st (20:23.2), Riley Lembke took 43rd (20:26.1), Donovan Ryan finished 44th (20:28.5), Braydn Livingston earned 47th (20:42.9) and Andrew Arnos finished 51st (21:16.0).
Purdue Fort Wayne finished second with 52 points. Findlay won the Rumble in the Fort with 19 points, while Saint Francis (Ind.) finished third with 66 points.
The Mastodons return to the course on Friday (Oct. 2) for the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
