2012 Season: Named Summit League Setter of the Year... All-Summit League selection... Only setter in the league to win Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honors two times (Oct. 1 / Oct. 15)... Ended the year ranked fifth in the NCAA in assists per set (11.97)... Led the team and the Summit League with 1,484 assists giving her a career total of 4,723... 4,723 career assists moved Steenhuysen to second all time in IPFW history... Her career assist per set average of 10.36 is the fifth highest average in school history... Moved to third all-time with 1,484 assists in a single-season... Recorded a season-high 65 assists to go along with a season-high 19 digs vs. North Dakota State (Sept. 29).. Tied her season-high effort 65 assists at South Dakota State (Oct. 27)... Set a new career-high with four service aces vs. IUPUI (Sept. 18)... Recorded 11 double-double performances... First double-double of the year with 33 assists and 10 digs came vs. Cleveland State (Aug. 25)... Recognized as the MVP of the 2012 Summit League Tournament while also being named to the All-Tournament Team... Ended her career with a 37 assist, 13 dig performance vs. Iowa State in the NCAA Tournament (Nov. 29).
2011 Season: Named Second Team All-League... Started in every match for IPFW, playing in all 120 sets… Led the team for the third-straight season with 1,333 assists… Ranked 33rd in the NCAA and led the Summit League with 11.11 assists per set… Moved to 10th all-time for most assists in a single-season and for assists per set in a single-season… Climbed to seventh all-time with 3,239 career assists… Recorded 20 service aces and tallied 75 kills… Ended the year with 268 digs, averaging 2.23 per set… Made two solo blocks while assisting on 38 others giving her 40 on the year… Scored 116 points for the Mastodons… Moved to third all-time with a season-high 76 assists in a single match at South Dakota State (Oct. 22)… Recorded at least 30 assists in 28 of 30 contests… Ended the game with 64 assists in the five set match vs. Eastern Michigan (Oct. 4)… Recorded a season-high six kills on three different occasions… Posted nine double-doubles on the year… Season-high 23 digs occurred at South Dakota (Nov. 5).
2010 Season: Earned the Summit League Setter of the Year honors... Named to the Summit League Fall All-Academic Team... Played and started in all 32 matches during the year, playing in all 123 sets of the season... Named the MVP of the Best Western Falcon Plaza Invitational, and earned the Summit League Player of the Week on September 13... Her 1,223 assists are the fifth most by a sophomore in school history, and the 13th most overall school history... Had 17 double-doubles on the season, and finished just three digs shy of the school's second-ever triple double with 10 kills, 46 assists and seven digs against South Dakota State... Had a season-high 57 assists in the season-finale against North Dakota State, and also had 54 assists at home against Oakland (Sept. 10)... Recorded at least 30 assists in 28 of the 32 games of the year.
2009 Season: Named to the Summit League Fall All-Academic Team... Played in 25 matches during the year, starting 17, while playing in 89 total sets... Led the team with 683 assists, which are the third most by an IPFW freshman since 1988... Had ten matches of at least 30 assists, including a season-high 50 against Missouri State (Oct. 25)... Had six matches of double-figure digs, recording a double-double in each (Aug. 29 against Kent State, 41 assists, 12 digs; Sept. 12 at UMKC, 20 assists, 11 digs; Oct. 25 vs. Missouri State, 50 assists, 14 digs; Nov. 6 at IUPUI, 24 assists, 13 digs; Nov. 13 vs. UMKC, 35 assists, 12 digs; and Nov. 21 at North Dakota State, 43 assists, 17 digs)...Three times had three kills in a match, Aug. 29 against Kent State, Sept. 1 against Eastern Michigan, and Oct. 25 against Missouri State...Had just three service aces during the season, with the last one winning the Summit League Tournament.
High School: Steenhuysen was a finalist for the 2008 Michigan Miss Volleyball Award, finishing third overall in the voting... Three-time First Team All-State selection... Named American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week (Nov. 10)... Four-time All-Region selection, and was named All-Conference three times... East Kentwood compiled a four-year record of 262-25 during her tenure... Also a stellar student, she was named to the Academic All-State team all four years... In 2006, was named by the Capital City Volleyball Club to the "Sophomore 79", listing the 79 best sophomores in the country... As a freshman, led her team to the MHSAA State Title, and in 2008 her team lost in the MHSAA Quarterfinals to the eventual state champion Jenison.
