ENDOWMENTS AND NAMED SCHOLARSHIPS
No one can accurately predict the future. One thing we can do, however, is take action to secure the future. Endowments for Mastodon athletics provide a perpetual flow of scholarship or operational funding for specific programs. An endowment contribution is both a gift now and for the future because the endowment principal is continually reinvested and a percentage of the accrued interest is used annually for scholarship support. Endowments for Mastodon student-athletes begin at $25,000. Gifts of this size usually come in the form of a pledge that can be paid over several years.
Named scholarships begin at $2,000. Gifts of this size usually come in the form of a pledge that can be paid over five years for a total commitment of $10,000.
Named athletics scholarships and complimentary parking for men’s basketball at Memorial Coliseum accompany a three-year annual support of $15,000.
There are separate benefits for endowed and named scholarships. For more information about establishing an endowment or named scholarship and securing the future of IPFW Athletics, please contact the director of athletic development at 260-481-6894.
There are many other ways to give. A Gift in Kind is a charitable gift in which the donor, instead of giving money to buy needed goods and services, donates goods and services directly.
Contributions associated with purchasing season tickets are deductible only by the extent allowed by the law. It is prudent to always consult your tax advisor when determining the deductibility of gifts to the Mastodon Athletic Scholarship Fund.
